HUBO (KHR-3) is a walking humanoid robot with a life-size bipedal frame, developed by the KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and was revealed January, 2005. HUBO, short form for "humanoid robot," has been paving the road in realizing a vision of fantasy to the real world. KAIST mechanical engineering professor Jun-Ho Oh, the team leader on the HUBO humanoid robot project as well as Erick Oh’s father, has graciously given his approval and support to Erick in producing this entertaining 3D animated short featuring a cute version of HUBO and his encounter with a not quite typical ball.
「HUBO」는 휴머노이드(Humanoid)와 로봇(Robot)의 합성어로, 2005년 1월 한국과학기술원(KAIST) 기계공학 과 오준호 교수팀이 개발한 인간형 로봇이다. 귀여운 ‘휴보’와 앙증 맞은 공이 서로 다투는 단편 애니메이션 ‘휴보’는 휴보 랩의 팀 리더이자 오수형 작가의 아버지이기도 한 오준호 교수의 서포트 아래 제작되었고 현재 다양한 매체와 공식적인 자리에서 실제 ‘휴보’와 함께 재미있게 소개되고 있다.
